Hamara Saahas
- Saahas means ‘courage’ and it is through the courage of a team of dedicated women that cultural biases are being defied and confidence instilled in the local women and children of jodhpur.
- Through vocational training (sewing, embroidery, block printing, beautician courses) and basic literacy seminars, “Hamara Saahas” provides women and children the tools and techniques to build courage so that they are no longer dependent on others and can sustain a respectful and dignified life.

In 2014, Tamanna Bhati founded ‘Hamara Saahas’ an NGO for women, run by women.
Hamara Saahas was established to address the pressing issue that women and girls in our society often exist in the shadows of men. They frequently lack access to adequate support, particularly during times of urgent need. Upon marriage, women typically move into their husband’s family home, which can present significant challenges. In many lower and lower-middle-class families in India, instances of physical or psychological abuse from family members are unfortunately common. In some cases, daughters-in-law are treated more like servants than valued family members.
Moreover, when a woman gives birth to a girl for the first time, she may face rejection from her family and experience immense pressure to produce a male child. This societal expectation can lead to severe emotional distress and feelings of inadequacy.
